My Amazon Store!

As I was updating the camera equipment list on the main site, I began to wonder, is there a way I could make a list of these goodies available so if someone wanted to see what they looked like, or if they wanted to read reviews about it they could?

I figured I could just make a table full of links that go back to Amazon. I could create some headers for equipment, software and books, put everything in a list, and it would be ready to go. As I began to process, it looked rather ugly. Just a bunch of blue links on a page; not really what I had in mind. I wanted things to look a bit more snazzy than that.

So I put that project away for a little bit while I looked for a more elegant solution. Then, late one night, it came to me. Not like a lightning bolt, or epiphany or anything mystical like that. I was looking on Amazon and thought it would be really neat if I could build a list of items and just link to the list. Well, you can.

I have created my own little Amazon Store. I went through and picked out all the equipment I currently have and made a nice list you can browse through. Further, you can actually click each item, see a picture of it and see the reviews directly from Amazon. Hey now, not too bad. But wait, it gets better.

You can actually buy the items right from the list, directly from Amazon, for the same price as if you just went to Amazon itself. So if you think getting a teleconverter is a good idea and you want the same one I have, you can order it right from here. Not too bad, I say!

Now for the big finish!

If you do buy something through my little storefront you’ll actually be helping me out! The price is exactly the same as it on Amazon, because, well, that’s where you’re buying it from. But, if you use my link, I get a teeny, tiny, teensy weensy, little bit of money for sending you over there.

How’s that for helping each other out? I show you all the cool gizmos I have, and if you want one, you find it in my list, buy it through Amazon, you get your cool new piece of photography equipment and I get a couple of ducats for all my hard work. See, you knew I was good for something. :)

If you were planning on buying Adobe Lightroom, or a monopod anyway, maybe you can throw me a bone and buy it through here… I’d do the same for you, you know I would! The link is listed under the Blogroll and on the main site. Oh yeah, and it’s right here too!

I’ve also listed a couple of books that I’ve enjoyed. No New York Times bestsellers or anything silly like that, you can find that stuff somewhere else, but books that make you want to get out and travel a little bit. No crazy exotic travel guides where you jump on the back on some animal you can’t pronounce or climb the side of some big hill with enough equipment to start a small village. Nothing like that. These are books about traveling your own back yard. They’re funny, insightful and make you reflect. I’ve enjoyed reading them and maybe you will too.

Oh yeah, here’s the link to the store one more time so you can’t say you never found it!
