Western Digital Launches Terabyte ‘Black’ Drive

1 terabyte in a single package. Now that’s impressive.

Western Digital on Tuesday launched a new pair of its “Caviar Black” drives, available in both 750-Gbyte and 1-terabyte capacities.
The WD Caviar Black 750 GB (model WD7501AALS) and 1 TB (model WD1001FALS) hard drives will be available next week through select distributors and resellers, WD said. The MSRP for the WD Caviar Black 750 GB is $199 and the 1 TB is $249 USD. Both drives are covered by a five-year limited warranty.

Canon EOS 1000D enters DSLR combat zone

Canon hopes its EOS 1000D will trigger a digital SLR revolution among mass market consumers, tempting them into taking their first steps into DSLR photography.
Pitched below the 12.2MP EOS 450D, the 1000D features a 10.1-million-pixel CMOS sensor and will vie for position in the cut-throat consumer DSLR battleground where it will go head to head against models such as Nikon’s D60.
