Strawberries for Mother’s Day
Each Mother’s Day we head out into the field and pick strawberries right off the plant. This year was a bumper crop with some huge fruit. It only took about 10 minutes to fill up the gallon container. I should have planned ahead and had Rum at the ready so these babies could be blended into a tasty little summertime drink. Not to worry, there is always tomorrow. But then again, they taste so good right now, no telling how long they will actually last. They may be gone before the day is over.
Tri The Rock
In the early hours of the morning I found myself amongst the participants of the Tri The Rock triathlon. I was only there to photograph Donnas’ participation in the event, such feats of exertion aren’t my thing. Besides I can’t run a 5k. It was a pretty impressive turnout and Donna put on a good showing with her full speed spring to the finish. The first place guy looked like he spend a small fortune on his racing road bike, aero dynamic helmet and flashy running shoes. But I have to admire the older chap who was powering along. He was slow and steady and clearly had quite a few of these events under his belt.
I’m always impressed by the support and camaraderie offer up, but seriously, you guys think this sort of thing is fun? What happened to sleeping in on a Saturday?
