In the spirit of Christmas here are the two themes I’ve created so far. They are basically the same with one in green and one in red. They are fully functional themes that have been tested with Wordpress 2.8.6. As you can see I’m using one right now. If you’re looking for a Christmas theme for Wordpress this might just suit you.

Did I mention they were free? You are also free to modify and alter the theme as you see fit. Unlike other free themes there are no encoded or encrypted portions of the PHP files or any other kinds of trickery. I do ask that you keep the footer in place since it contains credit to the author who provided the banner graphics.

I think these look pretty good. Please feel free to drop me a note and tell me what you think.

Oh this room is a mess! I think we’ve gone just a touch overboard with using this as a "spare room". Now there are games, toys, books, magazines, coats and who knows what else scattered all over the place. It’s taking hours to get this under control. Well, I know it was going to come to this. I’ve been cleaning up just about every other room in the house and avoiding this one. Still cleaning up some of the dishes I used for Thanksgiving.

I’ve also been using RichCopy like a crazy fool. I’m now paranoid that all my files are going to disappear as more drives fail. I’m making copies of everything between drives. It used to be I could use DVDs to back this stuff up, but now there’s just too much and I’d have stacks of discs all over the house. I’m really thinking about investing in a NAS box. The external drives have been my low budget solution to that, but as I’m starting to see, just because they’re cheap doesn’t mean they’re the best way to go. It’ll have to wait until after the new year since that would totally throw of Christmas. Besides I haven’t looked to see what my options even are.

Oh well, back to work! Got to get this taken care of so I can get started on Season 2 of Dexter.

I did manage to get a few good deals while online. I finished the shopping for one person (we shant mention who) but that’s one down. Not sure what to get everyone else, but considering all they keep asking for is an iPod Touch I don’t have much to work with. They’re going to get coal if this keeps up.

I also put together a new theme for the site, doesn’t it look all holiday and festive? Getting the basic structure together only took a few minutes; it’s all the fine tuning and little adjustments that take all the time. Anyway, I think it looks pretty good. I’m thinking of making a blue version of this same one just to see which one I like better.

This vacation has been pretty damn nice. I’ve caught up on tons of TV and even got myself hooked on the show Dexter. I know it’s been on for a few years, but it’s not something I’ve just been able to sit down and watch. And now that I have I want more! I’m surprised at how good the show really is. I wouldn’t have thought such a crazy premise as a cop working for the police department is a serial killer, but they make it work. It’s creepy and funny. It’s a nice compliment to my fascination with Criminal Minds.
