Another fun weekend of biking

Donna and I rode down to Carowinds on Saturday to attend her Krav Maga class. It’s only 6 miles but there are some really long hills you have to climb. Great weather though so it was definitely worth it. Going there and back was a nice 12 mile ride for the day. Later we took her Giant to the shop to get the shifters adjusted, it’s not changing gears like it should and Donna wants the thicker tires like my bike has. The wider Roubaix tires are pretty nice.

Then for Sunday I had to go into work to finish up some testing so I rode in. It’s a 12 mile ride, but the road is pretty crappy with lots of potholes and tons of chewed up roadway. Plus, it’s a pretty heavily travelled route so I’m not entirely comfortable with it. But on the weekend it wasn’t too bad. Again, really long rolling hills that you just have to power through. But the funny thing is, there’s lots of cows along the route and they just of kind of stare as you go by.

After work was done I decided to add a few extra miles to the route by heading toward the Peach Stand and then working my way back up 160. I added several new miles but only a few more minutes. Not too shabby!

Not a bad weekend of riding, since once again I missed the group ride on Saturday. I really need to get back in line with that. It’s a lot of fun and I much prefer riding with a group.

But a fun weekend of riding and since the rain from a few days ago, the pollen has been washed away and it’s so much nicer out there!

And I really like the Roubaix! Very smooth and comfortable to ride.
