24 hours of Booty
Tonight is the start of the 24 hours of Booty in downtown Charlotte! One day I’m going to get enough people together to actually participate in this event. Donna and I had grand plans of getting a group together and signing up. But then so many other things started to happen and we just couldn’t commit to it. I’m really hoping I can ride in it next year. If you need an extra guy on your team to do some riding, keep me in mind.
However, things aren’t looking too great for being able to make it out there to have a look and take some pictures. We had a major software update this week and there has been some fallout since. Things don’t always go according to plan and you have to run around patching software and making sure your patches don’t make things worse. Looks like it might be a late night.
The start is at 7 so maybe we can make it out there. The weather is looking pretty good out there, the heat wave has finally broken. Could be a great night to ride!
Is anyone out there participating? Going to take any photos?
We have pork chop!
We’ve been on pins and needles but things are working out. Nothing blew up in our faces and we get to go out for lunch. A whole group of us are heading down for some deep friend goodness. It’s only lunch time but we’ve been here for hours! This day is really dragging on. Normally we would be getting ready to wrap things up and head home, but everyone seems so tentative that I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think we might be here for the rest of the day just in case things go off the rails. I’m going to play some music on Pandora and hope for the best.
My kingdom for a blanky and a pillow!
Looking good but no one’s talking
No one is running around the building screaming, but then again, no one is saying anything. Normally, no news is good news, but this is a little nerve racking. I think they’re scared to say anything lest it all come crashing down again like it did yesterday.
If we make it through the next couple of hours we’re going to try and sneak off to Luwan’s for some fried pork chops. Nothing says successful launch like pork chops.
If something goes wrong, I’m not sure which I fear more, staying here all night or having to come back in at 5am. Hospital food, airline food…
