Happy New Year!

In some ways, thank goodness it’s over!

We went over to a friend’s house for dinner last night and had some amazing food. His wife if Romanian so she made multiple dishes from her native country. There was lamb and chicken and beef and all sorts of foods that I can’t pronounce. And apparently the Romanian custom is to eat until you fall down. I honestly have never seen so much food. There were at least three courses worth of food, plus all the deserts. It was so amazing that I tried everything that was offered, but felt so absolutely bloated and sick! Honestly I don’t think I’ve ever eaten that much before.

But we did manage to make it home in time for champagne and all the fireworks going off!

There is so much to do for this year I really don’t know where to begin. I have so much bike riding to get done to get back in shape. I’ve taken way too much time off for the holidays. We have so much to unpack for this new house. Everything started off fine then we just started tossing things in to get it moved. Now the garage and most of the rooms are a mess. It’ll probably take the rest of the year to sort this mess out.

There are vacations to plan too. Donna and I have decided we want to go to Canada this year (it might be next year in reality). We’ve never really taken a vacation together by ourselves so we both think Montreal would be a great place to go. We have decided to put money aside each month and in the next month or two we’ll actually pick a destination and what we want to do. Then we’ll know exactly how much we need. It’s quite a ways off, but I’m already looking forward to it.
