Best Thanksgiving Ever!
I’m going to have to chalk up this Thanksgiving as the best one ever! Not only was my turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, biscuits and jalapeno bread (not to mention the several pies) all perfect, but I pushed everything aside and simply sat on the couch reading books and playing games on the iPad. I indulged heavily in the Gameloft sale, picking up several new titles, and took advantage of several other sales that were going on. For example I grabbed Cogs HD, and Trucks and Skulls for some puzzle excitement to compliment the carnage of my other titles.
With all this game playing, I really came away with some gems. Conquist is a great discovery (Risk style world domination), Trucks and Skulls had me cracking up, and I was laying waste to zombies in Rage HD. And that was just on Thanksgiving!
Hopefully you grabbed one of the hundreds of titles on sale over the break. My iPad is now loaded with new games. I need another vacation just so I can get to them all!
Black Friday Deals
I did manage to get a few good deals while online. I finished the shopping for one person (we shant mention who) but that’s one down. Not sure what to get everyone else, but considering all they keep asking for is an iPod Touch I don’t have much to work with. They’re going to get coal if this keeps up.
I also put together a new theme for the site, doesn’t it look all holiday and festive? Getting the basic structure together only took a few minutes; it’s all the fine tuning and little adjustments that take all the time. Anyway, I think it looks pretty good. I’m thinking of making a blue version of this same one just to see which one I like better.
This vacation has been pretty damn nice. I’ve caught up on tons of TV and even got myself hooked on the show Dexter. I know it’s been on for a few years, but it’s not something I’ve just been able to sit down and watch. And now that I have I want more!
I’m surprised at how good the show really is. I wouldn’t have thought such a crazy premise as a cop working for the police department is a serial killer, but they make it work. It’s creepy and funny. It’s a nice compliment to my fascination with Criminal Minds.
New Flaming Pumpkins – Gargoyle and Melting Skull
As you know my pumpkin lighting attempts have been scrubbed multiple times over the past few weekends. Wind and rain have been my enemy so no flaming pumpkins for me. But last night, that all changed!
Something was off with my gasoline mixture though. It seems rain got into the works and caused my toilet paper roll to be saturated with water as well as gas. Even though it had the distinct odor of gas, it didn’t have the lightability of such. As a result, nothing happened. No whoosh. No poof. Nothing. Here I was thinking this roll which had been soaking for nearly four days was going to create a mushroom cloud and in the end I got nothing.
When faced with such a dilemma there is really only one thing to do. Yep, add more gas to the mix. I filled the bottom of the pumpkin with gas and proceeded as normal. As you might expect, I got my whoosh!
There are some great photos in this batch. I captured some really impressive fireworks in these shots.
